The Kickstarter Journey Is Complete: Mix-Up/Side Quest Is Officially Funded 🎉

After months of planning, designing, testing, and sharing this dream with all of you, we are incredibly excited to say that the Kickstarter for Mix-Up: Side Quest has officially been successfully funded and completed.

This project started as a simple idea at our table - a fun twist on a classic card game that could bring friends and family together. What began as a small concept quickly turned into something much bigger thanks to the support, encouragement, and enthusiasm from everyone who followed the journey.

And now, that journey has reached its first major milestone.

The Kickstarter campaign has officially wrapped up, and production is now underway.

From Idea to Reality

Like many tabletop games, Mix-Up/Side Quest started with a lot of experimentation. We played countless rounds, adjusted mechanics, rebalanced cards, and refined the experience until it felt just right.

The goal was simple: Create a game that was easy to learn, quick to play, but still packed with chaotic and strategic fun.

Inspired by the classic game War, we wanted to build something familiar but with unexpected twists. The result was a game where every round can suddenly shift, alliances can change, and victory is never guaranteed until the final card is played.

Seeing people enjoy early versions of the game made us realize this was something worth sharing with a much larger audience.

That’s when we decided to take the leap and launch our Kickstarter campaign.

The Power of Community

Launching a Kickstarter can feel both exciting and nerve-wracking. You spend months building something, then suddenly place it in front of the world hoping people will believe in it the same way you do.

And you all did.

Friends, family, fellow tabletop lovers, and complete strangers came together to back the project and help bring it to life. Every pledge, comment, and share helped push the campaign forward.

Watching the campaign grow day by day was honestly surreal.

It’s one thing to believe in your own idea - it’s another thing entirely when other people believe in it too.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single backer who supported the project.

Why the Name Changed

Some of you may have noticed that during development the game went through a name change.

Originally part of the Wizard of Wisteria "universe," we ultimately decided that Wizard of Wisteria: Side Quest better captured the spirit of the game. The new name reflects what the experience is really about:

A chaotic adventure where anything can happen and every round feels like its own little quest.

The updated name also helps the game stand on its own while still leaving room for future expansions and adventures.

What Happens Next: Production Begins

Now that the Kickstarter campaign has ended successfully, we are moving into the production phase.

The game is currently being manufactured, and the process is already underway. Manufacturing timelines can vary, but we expect the finished copies to arrive within the next one to two months.

Once the games arrive, we will begin shipping all physical rewards to backers as quickly as possible.

We know many of you are excited to start playing, and we are just as excited to get the finished copies into your hands.

Digital Rewards Coming Soon

While physical copies are being produced, we will also be sending out digital rewards to backers within the next week or two.

These will include a print-and-play black and white version of the game so supporters can start playing right away while waiting for their official copies to arrive.

It’s a fun way to experience the game early and share it with friends and family before the final version ships.

The Beginning of Something Bigger

Although the Kickstarter campaign has ended, this is really just the beginning of the journey for Wizard of Wisteria: Side Quest.

Once all backers receive their copies, the game will also become available to the general public. We’re excited to continue growing the community around it and sharing the game with even more players.

This project has been a labor of love for our growing family, and seeing it come to life has been an unforgettable experience.

Thank You

To everyone who supported the campaign - whether you backed the project, shared it with friends, or simply followed along with the updates - thank you.

Your support turned an idea at a table into a real game that will soon be played in homes around the world.

We’ll continue to post updates as production progresses and as we prepare to start shipping rewards.

From our family to yours,

Thank you for being part of this adventure.

The quest has only just begun. 🎲
